Radio Transmission - Ascenso [GTX044]

https://gordotrax.bandcamp.com/album/... EVAR is the musical counterpart to RAVE: Amaneceres que no terminan, Pedro Viñuela Romero's poetry collection. Under his Radio Transmission alias, the album follows the same emotional curve as the book: anticipation, surrender, intensity, exhaustion and return, through eleven tracks spanning techno, IDM, ambient and experimental electronics. For us, it is also one of the most original and mature records in the Gordo Trax catalogue. Pedro's background in modular synthesis, experimentation, mixing and mastering is present throughout, but EVAR never feels like a collection of technical exercises. Every sound serves a wider idea and every decision belongs to the same emotional world. Dense low-end, broken rhythms, repetition, suspended atmospheres and moments of near-claustrophobic pressure are used to express something far more human: melancholy, anxiety, exhaustion, disorientation and the desire not to return to routine. The club becomes both refuge and confinement, somewhere to disappear into the smoke, the bodies and the loop for a little longer, even when dawn is already waiting outside. EVAR translates that feeling into sound with an unusually coherent artistic sensitivity. It is not simply music about nightlife, but a record about everything we try to postpone by staying there.
