Bibbulmun Track - day 34

Day 32 - zero at Pemberton September 04, 2025 A day of running around mostly. Coffee / pies at the cafe, and organised our resupply for a couple days past the next town (which only has a general store). My thermals arrived, picked them up from the post office, and organised a haircut (read: no comb buzz-cut). Dinned at the hotel, and more Coopers stout, yay! Day 33 - zero at Pemberton September 05, 2025 An actual zero, we did little outside the hotel room apart from a lunch of burrito bowls and chips and the local greasy Joe's. Had a drink at the hotel in the evening with Rhea, Hayley, Chris, Tony and a group of Asian guys who had finished their multiday section hike of the Bibb. Dinner in the hotel room, and we saw two movies across the zero days: Starsky and Hutch, and the North Man. Thanks go to Gordon for leaving their Netflix signed in on the hotel room TV hehe Day 34 - Pemberton to Warren September 06, 2025 Still quite wet this morning, we dithered about for a while but ended up hiking out at about 9:30. The new poncho tarps performed well as rain gear across a day of intermittent rain. Only about 18km to the hut, but we also did a short side trail to the Cascades, which was worth it imho. We met a group of day hikers on the way there. The hike itself was nice, quite a bit of elevation overall but no huge single sections, just a lot of up and down short ridge climbs. Avoiding the water on the track eventually became impossible, and there was some wading through calf-deep water. Had fantastic sandwiches on Turkish for lunch thanks to Mim... Avo, mustard, tomato, greens and mayo. Couldn't do a lot of filming because of the rain. Got to camp a bit after 3pm. Now settled in with French onion soup / left over frozen mixed veg in our bellies, and expecting Chris to get here... sometime.
