Down east of the Bay Area lies a little region called the Tri-Valley, consisting three cities, Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore. While everyone knows about BART in the Tri-Valley, Commuter Rail and train action is less talked about in the Tri-Valley. Dublin does not have any major rail lines, while Union Pacific's Oakland Subdivision glides through Pleasanton and Livermore. Highlighted in this video is the area's primary commuter rail, the Altamont Corridor Express (or ACE), as different trains were recorded throughout the years. Union Pacific does run a few freight trains through Tri-Valley and some of those trains are featured in this video. Also some Heritage Units and other special-painted locomitives can pass Tri-Valley too, but they are a rare find. This area is worth checking out for ACE and UP if you are stopping by.
