The Army Day parade on Avenida Providencia, filmed September 19, 2026, a short walk from Plaza Baquedano in Santiago. This was the smaller neighborhood parade Providencia held that afternoon, separate from the big Parada Militar at Parque O'Higgins, and it finished in front of the newly restored General Baquedano monument. On-screen notes name each group as it passes, and a small map shows roughly where I was standing. I didn't plan to film any of this. I was walking to a coffee shop when I noticed the road was closed. Nothing about it seemed alarming, and other people were walking the same way I was, so I kept going. When I got there, something was clearly set up, so I waited around to see what would happen, and a parade started. I knew it was the Army's day, and a bit of Googling confirmed this was the parade for it. I didn't know anything about Chile's military or police forces going in, but after some research I've tried to identify each group on screen.
