Learn how to crochet easy fingerless mitts using a calm, simple V-stitch pattern worked in a continuous spiral. This beginner-friendly crochet tutorial guides you through an adaptable construction method you can easily adjust to any hand size. This is not a fixed-size pattern. Instead, it is an adaptable construction method you can adjust to your own hand. Start with a foundation that fits comfortably around your hand, join it into a ring, and build the mitt upward in a continuous V-stitch rhythm. Work until you reach the length you want, then create the thumb opening and continue the pattern around it. The foundation stitch count, yarn, hook size, tension, and finished length can all be adjusted to suit your hand. My sample: • 34 foundation stitches • 2.5 mm (US C/2) crochet hook • Soft, lightweight, fuzzy yarn • Less than 50 g of yarn for the pair, including the fringe • 10 beads per mitt • Finished length without fringe: 17 cm / 6.7 in • Finished length with fringe: 18.5 cm / 7.3 in • Width: 8.5 cm / 3.3 in These measurements are for my finished pair and are provided as a reference, not as a fixed size. YARN NOTE: For this project, I used a very soft, lightweight fuzzy yarn with a gentle halo. The exact yarn is not essential to the construction. Look for a soft, flexible yarn that creates a comfortable fabric and adjust your hook and stitch tension as needed. The matching mitts are part of my mohair shawl project, made with the same V-stitch rhythm. 🧶 Crochet is not always about finishing quickly. Sometimes it's simply about finding a rhythm you enjoy and making a little time for yourself. Thread to Yourself — crochet that calms, inspires, and helps you find your own rhythm.
