Description:
In Galatians 2:1–10, Paul describes his visit to Jerusalem after fourteen years and his meeting with the apostles concerning the true Gospel.
False brethren were teaching that Gentiles needed to be circumcised and follow Jewish law in addition to believing in Christ. Paul refused to
compromise—even for a moment.
Titus, a Gentile believer, became an important test case. He was not compelled to be circumcised, demonstrating that salvation is not through the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ.
The apostles recognized that Paul had been entrusted with the Gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the Gospel to the circumcised. The message is clear: the Gospel of grace must never be mixed with legalism.
Key Lessons:
God's servants must be guided by His revelation.
The Gospel must be protected from false
teaching.
Salvation is not obtained by adding works to faith.
We must not compromise the truth of the Gospel.
Different ministries can serve different groups while proclaiming the same Gospel.
