Roughing Up A Roommate

The plaintiff says he used to live with the defendant and loaned him money for rent and utilities when he had cash flow problems. Now his ex-roommate won’t pay him back, so he’s suing for the outstanding loans and rent. The defendant insists he doesn’t owe the plaintiff any money. Case 29-176
