In the summer of 1858, the Thames smelled so bad that Parliament considered moving out. The surprising part? Engineers already had plans for a better sewer system. Follow the Great Stink from treated curtains and disputed disease theories to the money, workers and engineering that changed London. The original sewers moved untreated waste downstream; they did not magically purify the river. Tiny Epoch brings history to life through original illustrated miniatures, clear explanations and dry humor. Tiny people. Enormous consequences.
