Introductions have always felt... too absolute to me. "I'm this." "I'm that." Even with a good list of credentials and qualifications, I've never really liked introducing myself that way. I always believed people should have the space to observe you, judge for themselves, and get to know you over time instead of being told who you are in the first five minutes. I still believe that. I still don't enjoy listing my achievements or talking about my credentials more than I have to. But somewhere along the way, I realized something. When you don't take authority over your own story, people don't leave it blank. They fill it in themselves. Sometimes with assumptions. Sometimes with projections. Sometimes with insecurities they've been carrying about themselves all along. And that's not the same as letting people get to know you. So this isn't me swinging to the other extreme and giving you the most polished, absolute version of who I am. I don't think I have one. I'm still finding my voice. Still looking for answers. Still changing my mind. Still becoming. But I also know that there's another truth. I have spent years studying, teaching, creating, and thinking about education, creativity, and the way we learn. That story deserves to be told by me before it's told by someone else. Maybe the most honest introduction is simply holding both truths at the same time. And I guess there's no better time to try than now. Because I'm starting Gray—a creative education platform. This is where you'll find the Gray Podcast, thought pieces, conversations, and eventually physical workshops and classes. More than anything, I want Gray to become a space for people who are curious enough to question, generous enough to listen, and brave enough to change their minds. If this feels like your kind of place, I'm glad you're here. Let's paint the town Gray.
