Birds of Mokila | Few Bird Species from Hyderabad, Telangana Take a glimpse into the incredible birdlife of **Mokila, Hyderabad, Telangana**. In this 6-minute compilation, I’ve brought together footage of 13 bird species photographed and filmed around the grasslands, open landscapes and wetlands of Mokila. From colourful bee-eaters and starlings to ibises, terns, larks and the striking Blue-faced Malkoha, these encounters showcase just how much birdlife can be found around Hyderabad. 🐦 Birds Featured 1. *Eurasian Hoopoe* — Upupa epops 2. *Green Bee-eater* — Merops orientalis 3. *Rosy Starling* — Pastor roseus 4. *River Tern* — Sterna aurantia 5. *Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse* — Pterocles exustus 6. *Indian Peafowl* — Pavo cristatus 7. *Brahminy Starling* — Sturnia pagodarum 8. *Indian Bush Lark* — Mirafra erythroptera 9. *Red-naped Ibis* — Pseudibis papillosa 10. *Bay-backed Shrike* — Lanius vittatus 11. *Grey-breasted Prinia* — Prinia hodgsonii 12. *Blue-faced Malkoha* — Phaenicophaeus viridirostris 13. *Little Egret* — Egretta garzetta All 13 species featured in this video are currently listed as *Least Concern (LC)* on the IUCN Red List. 📍 *Location:* Mokila, Hyderabad, Telangana, India Mokila and the surrounding landscapes provide a fascinating mix of open country, grassland and wetland habitats, making the area an interesting destination for birdwatchers around Hyderabad. 🌿 A Few Highlights The *Green Bee-eater* is an agile aerial insect hunter, often catching insects in flight. The *Indian Bush Lark* is well adapted to open grassland and scrub habitats. The *Red-naped Ibis* is a distinctive Indian species, easily recognised by its dark body and contrasting red facial skin. The *Blue-faced Malkoha* is a striking cuckoo with a vivid blue facial patch and a long tail.
