State Capture | Nulane fraud and corruption matter re-enrolled

The R 24.9 million Nulane fraud and corruption matter is expected back in the Bloemfontein Magistrates' Court on Tuesday after the National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) re-enrolled the matter in June this year. The breakthrough came after a long legal battle, which ensued after IDAC suffered a huge blow in 2023 when the Free State High Court discharged the accused. The court had found that the state failed to present credible evidence and bungled the investigation. However, the Supreme Court of Appeal found that the state could re-institute the matter on new facts.
