Preparing for a cycle adventure in Patagonia

I've been planning a big bikepacking adventure in Chile later this year and want to make sure I've got good miles in my legs before I head off, so this 85 mile/135km circuit out of Glasgow to Largs and back was just what I needed. I'm going to cycle a route called the Carretera Austral in Chilean Patagonia, the road to the south, which runs for about 800miles/1200km through some stunning remote landscapes and national parks. It's a big undertaking but I've been determined to do it since my cardiac event in 2025, and setting up this channel was always meant to help me document my preparation for the journey (almost) to the end of the world.
