Gibson BR-9 / GA-9 Hybrid Vintage Guitar Amplifier ca 1955

Much speculation has been posted on the Internet regarding the existence of an interim Gibson guitar amplifier that combines the features of both the BR-9 (1948-1954) and its successor, the GA-9 (1954-1959) model. This video will offer an up-close inspection of such an amplifier, made in 1955, and offer insights into its design and origins, including the Gibson Owner's Manual and Schematic that came with it from the factory. Possible explanations might include the decision to use up any surplus BR-9 chassis still on hand at the factory in 1955, even though the model had been phased out, and the fact that eliminating the phase-inversion transformer (as in the GA-9) would significantly reduce production costs.
