THE MISSING If I should be erased, if I was gone tomorrow, would anybody notice? Would anyone feel sorrow? If I were to be no more, would I have made a difference? Would life go on as before without a beat gone missing? Standing in a crowded room screaming; does anybody hear me or could they all be dreaming? Life has kicked me down before, it has always been a struggle, but this time around I’ve been knocked out and I think I am in trouble. I’ve set myself on fire and watched the world keep turning, everyone has passed me by, but no one sees me burning, I fill up space during the day, but what if I went missing? Would someone ask: “Was someone here or was it an illusion?” Would life go on as before without a beat gone missing?
