Mv Kwintebank arriving in Hamburg - Captain and Chief Officer ship navigation time lapse video

The Dutch coaster Mv. Kwintebank is sailing to the port of Hamburg in Germany. We get Elbe river pilot on the Elbe pilot station and it takes about 6 hours to arrive to the port of Hamburg. After we change from the river pilot to the harbour pilot, we navigate the port of Hamburg. During the final manoeuvre we have little space to swing, so we turn the ship in place and port side alongside. The navigation/maneuver inside the port of Hamburg took about 2 hours. Thanks go out to the pilot and to the crew for their great work on deck and in the engine room. A captain can only be as good as his crew. Mv Kwintebank has a left turning pitch propeller, acting right handed when pitching astern. The bowthruster is adequately powered and the rudder is able to reach 60 degrees to both sides - to be used on low speeds. Subtitles narrate the navigation of this time laps video.
