Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and the drive to Alamosa — another stretch of my solo road trip through Colorado. From the striking red rock formations of Garden of the Gods to a nerve-racking drive up Pikes Peak, this part of the journey brought unexpected challenges, dramatic mountain roads, and a few surprises along the way. High winds, steep hairpin turns, and an overheating brake scare made reaching the summit an adventure I won't soon forget. After descending the mountain, I continued toward Alamosa through the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Range. Along the way, I picked up a sand sled for my upcoming visit to Great Sand Dunes National Park and explored Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge, where I spotted Canada geese and enjoyed a few unexpected encounters. Traveling solo means embracing the unexpected, finding beauty in changing conditions, and making the most of whatever the day brings. Not every destination delivers the weather or photographs you hope for, but sometimes those imperfect days make the best stories. Through my photographs and videos, I'm sharing the places I explore, the moments I capture, and the realities of traveling solo. 📸 Read the full story and see the photos: Day 1: Leaving Devils Tower Behind https://www.journeyseewonder.com/09-2...
