Mid Hants Railway - Diesel Gala - 07/09/14

The Mid Hants Railway's 'Diesel Gala' of 2014 was held over the weekend of the 5th - 7th September, featuring a wide range of diesel locomotives, travelling over the rolling hills of Hampshire. Kicking off the guest list was the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's Class 24 No. D5081, and it would be joined by two Class 31s, with 31271 and 31466 arriving from the East Lancashire and Dean Forest Railways respectively. There were also a trio of Class 37s, with the East Lancashire Railway's 37324 'Clydebridge' operating alongside the two resident 37/9s - 37901 'Mirrlees Pioneer' and D6836 (37905). Class 40 No. 40145 was also scheduled to appear, however with just days to go, the loco was deemed out of gauge at Aldershot Tunnel. The remaining fleet consisted of Class 50 No. 50027 'Lion' and Class 205 'Thumper' DEMU No. 1125.
