Video Shows LASD Deputy Helping Couple Before Being Fatally Struck in Valley Village

An off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff's detective died after being struck by a vehicle in Valley Village on Sunday, authorities said. Detective Amber Joy Leist, a 41-year-old, 12-year veteran of the department assigned to the West Hollywood station, died following the collision, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
