Sagrada Família: Gaudí’s Unfinished Dream | The Story Behind Barcelona’s Icon

How do you finish a building when its architect is gone—and part of the knowledge he left behind has been destroyed? Barcelona’s Sagrada Família is more than an unfinished landmark. It is a story of imagination, loss, reconstruction, and generations of people working to carry Antoni Gaudí’s vision forward. In this documentary, we explore its beginnings, the forest-like columns and shifting stained-glass light, the destruction of Gaudí’s workshop, and the architects, craftspeople, and artists who continued his work. In February 2026, the basilica reached its highest point at 172.5 metres. But completing its tallest tower was not the same as completing the entire building.
