Sometimes it's more important, and clarifying, to watch what a person does (or casts), than to base something about a person's character on an offhand remark or something taken out-of-context. I know first-hand as this has happened often to me. One says something that gets picked up from an interview, repeated out-of-context; without any of the surrounding material, or that it may be an answer to a different question entirely, and then get pilloried publicly because you sound either insensitive, or downright evil. Case in point, here are two of Balanchine's favorite principal dancers from the 1950's and '60's (Pat Wilde) and thru 1970's (Anthony Blum), in the "Sanguinic" movement of Mr. B's FOUR TEMPERAMENTS in a 1965 Canadian TV broadcast. I posted the whole ballet on YouTube and it's a must-see of the company; with Arthur Mitchell and Patricia Neary giving legendary performances of "Phlegmatic" and Choleric." I wouldn't say any of the dancers looked unhealthily thin, let alone anorexic.
