PAMPA NOIR — Milonga & Futuristic Sounds from the Pampas | The Lounge Club

This video is particularly special to me because it takes me back to my own roots. I was born a gaúcho in the far south of Brazil, close to the border with Uruguay, and I grew up surrounded by this music. It became part of my musical education, but also something deeper than that: part of the way I learned to look at the world and perceive the beauty around me. Milonga was born and shaped across the immense landscapes of the Pampas, and somehow it carries that same sense of vastness within the music itself. It feels wide, horizontal, reflective, melancholic and deeply emotional. Perhaps that is also why it took me so long to make a video exploring this territory. Working with your own cultural references brings a different kind of responsibility. I see this first experiment as the beginning of a path rather than a finished idea. For Pampa Noir, I started wondering what milonga might sound like if it became more digital, more rigid, more mechanical — creating a dialogue between the organic and the electronic while preserving the melancholy, space and emotional depth that attracted me to this music in the first place. I hope you enjoy this first journey, because there will be more experiments in this direction.
