Almedinilla in Cordoba, is located in the center of Andalucia, between the neighboring towns of Priego de Cordoba and Alcala la Real, right where the provinces of Cordoba, Jaen and Granada meet. The Historical and Archaeological Museum is a highly recommended attraction due to its treasures that were found via excavations at the aforementioned sites, including the statue of the god, Hypnos.Thanks to the richness of its archaeological sites, Festum, (Almedinilla's Ibero-Roman Event) has been held here since 2008. This event sees the past, present and future combine. Festum takes place during the second or third week of August and it offers a wide variety of activities: conferences, dramatised tours of the archaeological sites, historical re-enactments, parades, Roman banquets and a Roman market.
