It is Lord Kumaran’s role to remove all our karmic burdens. In the beautiful, verdant surroundings of Velimalai, Lord Kumaran stands as a companion to his devotees, holding his divine Vel to relieve their suffering. O Vel of wisdom, who grants refuge and divine grace to those who worship you wholeheartedly, who dispels fear and brings comfort and courage to troubled hearts, who valiantly conquered the armies of demons in fierce battle, and who embodies the divine power of Lord Shanmukha, the bearer of the red rooster banner, we surrender to your divine protection and seek your blessings. -------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: These songs have been uploaded solely for listening pleasure and as an archive to preserve Carnatic music.
