Democrat State Senator Bought “MAMA’S CHICKEN” Shell Company for $750K to Get a Weed License

New details just dropped in the federal case against Virginia State Senator L. Louise Lucas. According to the indictment, in August 2022 she paid $750,000 for a shell company called “Mama’s Chicken LLC.” Prosecutors say the company had nothing to do with chicken. They say it was set up to land a recreational marijuana license, years before Virginia had any legal weed stores. It gets worse. Prosecutors say Lucas, 82, texted her business partner asking for a “good faith payment” while she was carrying the weed legislation as its chief patron. In January 2026, that partner dropped off $100,000 in cash in Richmond, and the FBI supplied the money. The indictment also cites wiretapped calls in which she allegedly said “I’ve got too old to not be greedy” and “when I did it, it was obviously illegal.” Lucas calls it a political witch hunt.
