This folk / Kalindula album features a solo guitar and tapping on a bottle. The record is a little beat up, but this one is a rare record and was hard to obtain so you take what you can find. I've gotten a lot of requests for this one over the past couple years. Alfred Kalusha Chisala Sr. was father to the more famous Alfred Kalusha Chisala Jr. He got his start in the 70's with an album entitled Kakonko, released by Zambia Music Parlour in 1977. The title refers to a traditional dance from Luapula Province in Zambia. Very little of his music has been documented. I believe much of it was released on the ZMP label, but it may have shown up on Teal labels as well. Some time in the 80's his son got a start in music with father and son performing together including on an album in the mid 80's. Eventually, Alfred Kalusha Sr retired and his son released his own music, most notably, Itumba in 1986. Since father and son share the same name, it seems like their music gets confused with one another fairly easily. Want more Alfred Kalusha Sr?
