Hey everyone, it's Evangeline, and today we're taking a look at the Inno Wedge Plus Rooftop Cargo Box right here at etrailer. So this is gonna be a low profile roof mounted cargo carrier. It's 13 cubic feet, and its focus is being a longer but also shorter and more sleek roof box. So if you're carrying around those longer items like those skis or those snowboards or even those surfboards, this is a great way to keep them on your roof out of the elements and safe and sound. The box is 80 inches long, so this is great for your smaller sedans and SUVs. Here you can see how we have plenty of clearance to open up our hatch without hitting the box.
If you've seen any of my other roof box demos, you know I have a favorite segment, which is how much stuff can you stuff in stuff So our roof box is unique in that it's longer but not as tall. So this changes the type of cargo it's designed to carry. So we have our chairs, we've got our snowboard, our skis, we even have a small surfboard. So, let's see, what kind of stuff can we stuff in our roof box So this can technically carry up to three surfboards, but it really depends on what type of surfboard. If they're smaller like this one, we've got our six foot long board here, then you are good.
Although, in terms of height, that does depend on how your fins look. So this is the maximum length of a surfboard that can fit inside this box. It just barely fits lengthwise, and you can also see here what I mean about the fin height, which is you don't have that much clearance up above. This can also carry 6 to 8 skis. Now the maximum ski length is gonna be up to 189 centimeters.
I've got some 160's here for those longer skis though, that 189 measurement is if you make them diagonally. For your snowboards, this can carry 4 to 6 snowboards depending on the size of your bindings. You also have included plastic buckle straps. I like this style because buckles into place and just pull it tight to cinch it. Plus where it fits into the clamp as an integrated anchor point can be adjusted like you can move the clamp facing the other way if that will help you out better with strapping down your skis and snowboards.
So the opening lid height is about 12 inches tall and that's an important number because it will help you figure out if you have space for your other cargo putting inside. So as you saw, not all cargo can fit inside this box. If you have larger duffle bags and suitcases like what we had, that's not gonna fit in terms of the height, although you do have more space in the back. This is really designed for your longer items like your skis, your snowboards, your smaller surfboards or those bulky things like your coats and your boots. So the box is made of a strong ABS plastic. That's material you'd usually find on the spoilers of your car, and that will maintain durability of the box. So for those impacts, those scratches or those things it helps protect the cargo inside but also see how shiny it is and how the light just bounces off of the box. That's because there's a transparent acrylic layer on it for that shine. As much as I love the look of this box, the downside to your glossy boxes are if you have, let's say greasy fingers or you're leaving hand prints behind you can definitely see them show up on those surface layer. So all of that means that the box only weighs about 44 pounds and I'll show you how easy it is to install later on in this video. Although with that, when it comes to weight capacity of roof boxes, technically the maximum loading capacity for this is 110 pounds. So you add the weight of your cargo, you add the weight of your roof box and just make sure it doesn't over weigh your actual roof weight capacity. Your box includes two keys and it's key to like it's a dual access box. So just pop the key in, turn it to the unlocked position but it won't open until you press this button. So press the button and you can then use your other hand to lift the box up. You have your side struts there holding the box up in place making it easier for you to load and unload. So that button design is interesting compared to others that have a latch. I like it because when the button's pushed in, it stays in which then means that if this is on a taller car you can then use your other hand to support it pushing up. Now you cannot remove the keys unless it's fully latched and that will help you out because then it looks like it's latched, but this actually goes on further. There you go, it clicks into place and now you can turn this to locked and rem
