Columbia University economist Jeffrey Sachs argued in an interview ahead of India's hosting of the BRICS summit that the wars in Ukraine, Iran and Gaza collectively represent the endgame of American hegemonic decline, characterising the Ukraine conflict as fundamentally a war of United States expansion after Washington rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin's demand for Ukrainian neutrality and refused to keep NATO missile systems away from Ukrainian territory. Sachs described the war in Iran as reflecting American hegemonic ambitions in the Middle East that are failing because Iran, despite being a middle power, possesses credible deterrence capability including hypersonic missiles capable of striking American military bases in the region, and characterised the conflict in Gaza as a genocide resulting from an American-backed effort to establish Israel as a US military beachhead for the broader Middle East. He criticised US President Donald Trump as incompetent, unstable and unstrategic, accusing him of exhibiting hegemonic behaviour including territorial ambitions toward Canada and Greenland, and argued that the American weaponisation of the US dollar as a tool of economic coercion, which began around 2002 and intensified significantly under Trump, represents an unwise strategy that is accelerating the decline of American global economic influence, currently standing at approximately 14 percent of world output. Sachs predicted that China and India would become the world's largest and second-largest economies by the middle of the century, surpassing the United States, and urged India to deepen economic cooperation with China rather than maintaining what he characterised as a declining strategic partnership with Washington, while calling on BRICS nations to collectively demand that the United States cease what he described as hegemonic military interventions across multiple global conflicts. #timesnowworld, #jeffreysachs, #brics, #us hegemony, #ukrainewar, #iranwar, #gaza, #sachsexposes, #americandecline, #indiachinarelations, #trumpcriticism, #dollarweaponization, #multipolarworld, #bricssummit2026, #sachsinterview, #antihegemony, #indiaus relations, #breakingnews, #worldnews, #geopolitics In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: 🌐 Read full coverage: https://www.timesnownews.com/world 📱 Instagram:   / timesnow.world   🐦 Follow us on X: https://x.com/TimesNow_World #timesnowworld #worldnews #breakingnews jeffrey sachs us hegemony exposed, sachs ukraine war american expansion, sachs iran credible deterrence, sachs gaza genocide american backed, sachs trump incompetent unstable, us weaponized dollar sachs, sachs india china economy 2050, brics summit india 2026, sachs america declining power, sachs putin ukraine neutrality, sachs cia ukraine targeting, sachs dollar weaponization 2002, jeffrey sachs columbia university, sachs bric grown ups trump, sachs asia booming economy 2026
