Welcome, or welcome back!! In this video I want to capture an old abandoned Methodist church in watercolours, but I want to paint it in a different way and experiment with colour a little! When it comes to painting and it doesn’t matter what subject you choose the colour doesn’t really matter. Yes the colour isn’t important! What you can do instead is shift our focus on the tones, so the light and darks of the objects and you can use any colour you want for this!! I’m using my Seawhites of Brighton sketchbook for this one, pencil to get me started and only when I’m happy with the outlines I go in with fineliner pens to give me those permanent marks and once that’s done you are good to go using any colour you want! It’s a great subject to sketch, an old Methodist church building which has been left abandoned for at least 13 years! I want to capture some history in my sketchbook. Hope you enjoy this one 🙂 ——————— 00:00 - 02:05 Methodist church 1877 02:05 - 03:10 The pencil sketch 03:10 - 04:00 Fineliner pens 04:00 - 04:19 Adding clean water 04:19 - 08:05 Using different colours 08:05 - 08:51 Painting windows 08:51 - 10:41 Adding dark tones 10:41 - 12:20 Experiment! 12:20 - 15:24 Capturing a moment in time 15:24 - 18:01 Why I love watercolours 18:01 - 18:16 Thanks for watching! ————————
