Marcel Dettmann After Hours Interview: Hard Wax, AI DJs, & “My Own Shadow”

The next guest on the After Hour show is Marcel Dettmann. As one of the most recognizable figures in Berlin techno since the early 2000s, Dettmann is celebrated for his masterful long-form DJ sets that emphasize rhythm, tension, and atmosphere. He stopped by the Hausverbot studio to discuss the mindset behind his new EP, My Own Shadow, his years running a record store out of his childhood bedroom, and how he believes the AI revolution will impact DJs—both now and in the future.
