Kamakura has been on my summer bucket list for the longest time, and it turned out to be everything I hoped it would be. Over three slow days, we explored temples, visited the Great Buddha, spent hours by the beach, enjoyed one of the best pancake breakfasts I’ve had in Japan, watched the sunset over the ocean, and even met a local artist who kindly sketched us on the beach.
