Saving energy & increasing density in information processing using photonics, David Miller, Stanford

This talk discusses how we can save a large fraction of the energy in data centers and other large information processing machines by developing a new generation of optical interconnection. It is largely based on the openly available paper “Attojoule Optoelectronics for Low-Energy Information Processing and Communications: a Tutorial Review,” IEEE/OSA J.
