Before the channel, he wrote one of my favorite demon-hunting series. Dämoren was his 2014 debut. It's monster-hunting urban fantasy with a grim, pitiless edge, a secret history of holy weapons, and action scenes that read like a big-budget horror film. If you love Hellboy, Blade or Supernatural, start here. It's a perfect Halloween read, and I loved every book in the series. Matt Hollis was a boy when wendigos killed his family and left a demon's mark on him. The hunter sent to kill him raised him instead and gave him Dämoren, a holy revolver forged to destroy demons that cannot be killed any other way. Now someone is murdering the knights who carry the world's holy weapons, and only fifty of those weapons remain. The Valducans, an ancient order of demon hunters, need every weapon they can get, including the one carried by a cowboy with a demon inside him whom half of them would rather put down. Fighting beside him are a woman with a conquistador's blade, an Englishman with an Egyptian khopesh, a voodoo priest with a sanctified machete, and a naginata-wielding samurai. If this song just put Dämoren on your reading list, SageChimp is where readers like you track what they've read, discover what's next, and find the community that actually loves these books.
