What is the difference between in situ, invasive, and metastatic cancer? This Cells2Cancer lesson uses tissue diagrams, real bladder micrographs, and a fictional colon-to-liver case to explain the words before a code lookup. For more practice with in situ, invasive, and metastatic terminology, see the Registry Foundations section of my Cancer Registry Structure and Management flashcards: https://cells2cancer.com/collection/c.... I explore the basement membrane, why invasion can occur before a bladder tumor reaches muscle, and why the place biopsied may differ from the primary site. I also practice preserving qualifiers and distinguishing regional lymph-node spread from distant disease. No medical background is needed. This is a student led channel. If you spot a correction, comment with a source so we can check it and learn together. Subscribe to Cells2Cancer for more visual study lessons. The chart case is fictional; the teaching images are independent examples. Use the reference editions required for your exam year and the rules that apply to the case.
