What Is Adoption in the Natural? Adoption in the natural is the legal transfer of a person from one family or situation into another family or situation. Therefore, adoption changes a person’s legal position and the rights available to that person. 2. What Is Supernatural Adoption? Supernatural adoption is being legally brought into the family of God through Jesus Christ. 3. What Needs to Happen Before Adoption? a. There must be a transition from one family to another. b. There must be another family that you do not naturally have a legal right to belong to c. There must be a legal process. d. The adopted child becomes free from obligations and loyalty to the former family. c. The adopted child receives the rights and privileges of the new family. 4. How Does God Make His Adoption Legal? a. God makes it public in heaven. b. God makes a proclamation concerning the believer’s new position. c. God makes the believer’s changed status known in the spiritual realm. d. Christ paid the legal price. 5. What Qualifies You for Supernatural Adoption? The qualification is not simply morality, church attendance, a christian name, personal effort, promises to change, or attempting to exercise spiritual authority. They must recognize that they are naturally in another family and need a transition. They must acknowledge their sinful condition and need for redemption. They must receive Jesus Christ and believe in His name. They must depend upon the price Jesus paid on the cross as the legal basis for redemption. They must confess Christ publicly and pledge allegiance to the new family and receive the Spirit of adoption and live with the understanding that God is now “Abba, Father.”
