Forgiveness Is Not Permission clarifies one of the most misunderstood ideas in healing. Forgiveness does not mean excusing harm, minimizing what happened, restoring access, or releasing another person from responsibility. It means releasing the continued inner authority of the event so the survivor is no longer organized around another person’s distortion. This Altus class examines forgiveness through the lens of innocence, responsibility, release, identity, and freedom -- especially when harm occurred in childhood.
