Tarheel Hal

The legendary Republic P-47D Thunderbolt (S/N 44-90368), famous for its iconic "Tarheel Hal" livery, was a crowning jewel of the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston and Houston, Texas, for over two decades. Lovingly called "The Jug," this massive, eight-ton powerhouse represented one of the very few airworthy Thunderbolts left in existence, routinely roaring to life for historic flight demonstrations and airshows across the country.
