*INCREDIBLE SOUND* Ride on Mainline 1756 - CWG 756V - Leyland Atlantean - Shuttle Run

After a nice dash down the A629 on 22086, I alighted at the Interchange with intention to catch 69217. However, after seeing this Mainline Roe-bodied Atlantean and the excited reactions to it, I knew I had to get a ride on it. I’m glad I made this decision, especially as there were no decent seats left on 69217 when it pulled up. This may have only been filmed running back down Fitzwilliam Road to the yard, but it still sounded amazing. The Atlantean in question is 1756. It was new to South Yorkshire Transport in September 1979, and spent the entirety of its career with the PTE in Sheffield, operating from Greenland Road (Olive Grove wasn’t always the only depot in Sheffield believe it or not) to be precise. It was withdrawn in 1996, and has been preserved since 2003. It spent the intervening years with Holloway in Scunthorpe. Like Dominator 2120, it’s been restored into the Mainline livery rather than the Toffee Cream livery it had when new.
