The first 15 minutes at an RV campsite can determine whether setup is smooth—or whether you spend the next half hour undoing work you just finished.
Dennis Morgan walks through the campsite setup order that matters before you fully commit the RV to one position. That includes checking overhead clearance, trees and slide space, inspecting the ground, confirming that power, water and sewer connections can actually reach, leveling and securing the RV correctly, inspecting the electrical pedestal, connecting water carefully, setting up the sewer connection, and checking the awning, steps and walking area.
The biggest lesson is simple: do not make the RV difficult to move until you know the entire campsite works.
The video also explains why one final walk-around matters after the slides, steps, cords and hoses are in place. At that point, the campsite is physically different from the one you originally pulled into.
The goal is not to set up faster. It is to avoid unnecessary repositioning, awkward hookups, trip hazards and preventable campsite problems.
Disclaimer: RV setup procedures vary by manufacturer, model, leveling system, slide system and campground. Always follow the instructions for your specific RV and equipment. If an electrical pedestal appears damaged or unsafe, do not attempt to repair it yourself; contact campground staff.
