How to Apply Improv Principles to Leadership and Team Building with Scott Parker

What changes on a team when an idea gets met with "tell me more"? Scott Parker and I talk improv and leadership on A Category of One. Scott and I know each other from Steamboat Springs, and we hadn't talked in years before this conversation. He runs a consulting business called Just Go For It and brings improv and juggling into his workshops. The first game you learn in improv is called Yes, And. It sounds simple, but if an employee's first idea gets a no, they think twice before bringing the next one. Scott has built his work around getting people laughing together, because people stop defending themselves when they laugh. He also runs the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center in Oregon wine country. When he moved there the town was divided, so he started a variety show. One night he looked out and saw a very conservative city council member laughing next to a very liberal one. I share a story of my own about what volunteering gave me that I never expected.
