The Icefields Parkway & Athabasca Glacier: A Day of Epic Scenery冰原大道与阿萨巴斯卡冰川：震撼的冰川之旅

2nd October 2026 – If the previous day was a highlight of our Canadian adventure, this one surpassed it. We set off along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, stopping at the tranquil Herbert Lake and beautiful Bow Lake before tackling an unexpectedly arduous hike to a snowy mountain viewpoint. There were a few slips, some spectacular views and more than one undignified landing in the snow! Our journey continued through immense mountain landscapes to the Athabasca Glacier, where I was astonished by its sheer scale and the dramatic evidence of how much it has retreated in recent decades.
