"Take Up Your Cross" | Living the Way of Jesus | Glenn Goldsberry

What does it actually mean to follow Jesus when His way is different from our way?Throughout the Living the Way of Jesus series, we’ve talked about being with Jesus, resting with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and following Jesus in community. But ultimately, following Jesus requires surrender. In Matthew 16:24–28, Jesus tells His disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” Jesus doesn’t hide the cost of discipleship. Following Him means surrendering our plans, our preferences, our control, and ultimately our way for His way. But Jesus also reminds us that when we surrender our lives to Him, we don’t lose our lives—we find them. The way of Jesus isn’t always the easiest way, but it is always worth following. “His way or my way? His plans or my plans? His timing or my timing? His kingdom or mine?” Renaissance Church - Richmond, Texas https://ren-church.org #alloflifealltheearth #walkgrowlive #christian #church #jesus
