SPECIAL Motor Plugs on my Air75 II Race Whoop | Custom Motor Connectors for Tiny Whoops | DIY Plugs

Hello my Whoop Friends. I’ve equipped my Betafpv Air75 II Race Tiny Whoop with custom motor connectors. I used the gold-plated pins and sockets from some A30/BT2.0 main battery connectors, trimming them down to minimize weight. My Conclusion of the Experiment: Do the BT2.0/A30 motor connectors feel almost like direct-soldered connections during flight? Yes. I don't think I could even tell the difference anymore. Are these connectors a viable solution for me as a pro race pilot—or for other pilots who know how to solder? No; I’ll stick to flying with direct-soldered motor wires because it’s lighter and offers the best possible performance and efficiency. Are these connectors a solution for other pilots? Maybe. If you aren't great at soldering but go through a lot of motors, you could hire a soldering pro to attach the sockets to the flight controller. You could then solder the pins onto the motor wires yourself—that part is relatively easy. In conclusion, it was an interesting experiment with a predictable outcome. It proves that it is theoretically possible to achieve the flight feel of direct-soldered motors using specialized motor connectors. In practice, however, this will likely never be adopted, as it is too expensive and probably too labor-intensive for manufacturers.
