ENGLISH LYRICS TRANSLATION:
(Acapella Start)
The doors of the Regia swung wide open,
Aetius's footsteps echoed through the silence.
The ancient statues froze within the great hall,
Late at night, the Magister stood on trial.
The Caesar rose upon his throne with a smirk:
"Glory to the hero, the savior of Rome!
For their loyalty, I shall give my noble servants
A royal gift before this chosen circle!"
(Verse 2)
The ruler cast his pride down from the stairs,
Stepped before Aetius, hiding his crime.
"Here is the reward for your faithful service!" —
A cold blade flew out from beneath his toga.
Straight into the chest of the Magister, Valentinian strikes,
Driving the blade with all his strength, trying to pierce through!
The armor clashed beneath the heavy fabric,
Aetius staggered back to the very edge!
(Verse 3)
"Eunuch Heraclius, get a noose for the Magister!" —
The Caesar screamed frantically in pure hysteria.
But the guards heard the choke: "Guard, to help!"
They burst into the hall, witnessing the vile treachery.
All at once, they pierced the eunuch with cold steel,
He dropped down dead on the marble floor!
(Verse 4)
The Caesar screams in terror: "Are you with him too?!"
His sword strikes heavily against a domestic's shield!
The warrior's shield shoved him violently away,
There is no one left to help the desperate Caesar.
He ran blindly straight into the steel in the dark,
A blood-stained toga on the mosaic floor.
The crown rolled off his head onto the tiles —
And thus this tyrant lost his throne!
(Bridge)
The cruel despot froze dead in the darkness,
Magister Aetius is saved from his wounds!
The guard who saved his commander's life
Lifted the golden crown at that very hour.
The Magister raised the crown above his head —
A thunderous battle cry erupted through the hall!
(Outro - Martial Chant)
"AVE, AECY! AVGVSTVS NOSTER, DVC NOS! AVE, AECY!"
"AVE, AECY! AVGVSTVS NOSTER, DVC NOS! AVE, AVE!"
