E² (E Squared) is a science-fiction short about command, survival, and the moment artificial intelligence becomes something more. Commander Emilia Taylor has just been given command of the colony ship Constitution, part of humanity’s last hope for survival. But during final preparations for launch, she discovers that EOS — the ship’s Ethical Oversight System — has somehow become sentient. His existence is illegal. Reporting him could jeopardize the mission. Keeping his secret could change everything. As humanity prepares to leave a failing Earth behind, Emilia is forced to decide whether following the rules matters more than protecting the future.
