🌺 *Bhakti Sastri Course* 📖 *Bhagavad-gītā As It Is* *Chapter 13 – Nature, the Enjoyer and Consciousness | Verses 1–7* 🙏 *Hare Krishna!* Welcome to another session of the *Bhakti Sastri Course**, where we begin our study of **Chapter 13 – Nature, the Enjoyer and Consciousness* of *Bhagavad-gītā As It Is* by **His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda**. 🌟 *Topics Covered* 🔹 Arjuna inquires from Lord Krishna about *prakṛti* (material nature), *puruṣa* (the enjoyer), *kṣetra* (the field of activities), *kṣetra-jña* (the knower of the field), knowledge and the object of knowledge. 🔹 Lord Krishna explains that the **material body is called the field of activities**, or kṣetra, while the conscious living entity who knows and experiences the body is called the **knower of the field**, or kṣetra-jña. 🔹 Krishna reveals that He is also present as the **knower within every body**. The individual soul knows its particular body, whereas the Supreme Lord, situated as **Paramātmā**, knows all bodies. Understanding the body, the individual soul and the Supersoul in their proper positions constitutes true knowledge. 🔹 Krishna prepares to explain the constitution of the field of activities—how the body is formed, the changes it undergoes, its origin, the nature of its knower and the influence of the knower upon it. 🔹 This knowledge of the field and its knowers is not an unsupported teaching. It has been described by *great sages**, presented throughout the **Vedic scriptures**, and systematically established in the **Vedānta-sūtra* through logical explanations of cause and effect. 🔹 The field of activities consists of the **five great elements—earth, water, fire, air and ether—along with false ego, intelligence and the unmanifested material nature**. It also includes the ten senses, the mind and the five objects of the senses: sound, touch, form, taste and smell. 🔹 Krishna further includes *desire, hatred, happiness, distress, the assembled body, the symptoms of life and determination* among the field and its transformations.
