40013 ‘Andania’ & 50050 make a brilliant appearance at Chester - The Thistle & Dragon - 22/08/2026

On the evening of August 22nd 2026, I travelled to Chester to catch the return journey of The SRPS Thistle & Dragon Railtour, hauled by 40013 ‘Andania’ and tailed by 50050 ‘Fearless’ which detached here before heading back to Crewe as a light engine. I haven’t seen 40013 for over two years now, so it was great to catch it again, and it looked and sounded amazing as it departed in the evening sunlight.
