February 2026 delivered a big storm to Tahoe, opening up some fun skiing in places that don't always get enough snow to be worth exploring. We started the day in what I jokingly call the Adventure Zone. It's a lower-elevation area that usually doesn't hold much snow, but after the big storm, we finally had enough coverage to find some fun, skiable lines. Sometimes the best adventures happen in places you wouldn't normally consider skiing! For the second half of the video, we headed over to Mt. Rose, where the chutes were open on a powder day. With fresh snow and great terrain, it was an opportunity to ski some classic Mt. Rose lines in excellent winter conditions. From exploring unusual terrain in the Adventure Zone to skiing the Mt. Rose chutes, this was a great reminder of what makes Tahoe backcountry skiing so much fun: a big storm can transform the mountain and create opportunities in unexpected places.
