Your Life as the Prince’s Second Wife in Imperial China

The baby is still warm from your body when the midwife carries him across the room and hands him to the principal wife. Step into the life of Lady Li, a Han Chinese woman in the household of Prince Yinzhen, fourth son of the Kangxi Emperor, in 1690s Beijing. You're his second wife. His lantern keeps coming to your courtyard, and you give him a daughter and three sons. The principal wife still outranks you, and when a quiet girl from the Niohuru clan gives him a son too, you barely notice. Then your husband becomes emperor of China and seals his heir's name in a box above the throne. Whose son will it be? Based on real people and events in Qing dynasty China. Some scenes and dialogue are dramatised. SOURCES Consort Qi (Lady Li): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consort...) Empress Xiaojingxian (Lady Ula-Nara): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empress...
