And she said the thing about work—” “That was yesterday.” … “CAN WE ESTABLISH A TIMELINE?” “You were awake FIVE MINUTES AGO!” “Five minutes is a long time after eleven-thirty.” 😂😂😂 Then she presents the strongest evidence: “YOU WERE SNORING.” “That feels like an accusation.” “I HEARD YOU.” “Could’ve been the air conditioner.” … “WE DON’T HAVE THE AIR ON.” Case closed. 😂 But underneath the comedy is something warmer. She reaches over to turn off the lamp… and finally notices how tired he actually looks. The long day is still sitting in his shoulders. Phone face down. Alarm already set for too early. And she realizes: He wasn’t bored. He wasn’t ignoring her. He was trying to stay awake because he genuinely wanted to hear what she had to say. “You really are tired, aren’t you?” “No…” “Baby.” … “LITTLE BIT.” “You could’ve said that.” “I wanted to hear your story.” “You heard approximately sixty percent.” “THAT’S PASSING IN SOME INSTITUTIONS.” 😂❤️ And that’s where this record becomes more than a joke without turning into a giant dramatic relationship speech. Because after you’ve been together long enough, sometimes love looks like realizing: EVERY CONVERSATION DOESN’T HAVE TO BE FINISHED TONIGHT. Some stories can wait until morning. Some sentences can stop halfway. Sometimes exhaustion wins. And tomorrow… you pick it back up where tonight ran out of energy. So she pulls the blanket up. Turns off the light. And gives him one final test: “Tomorrow you’ll remember where we stopped?” “Absolutely.” “WHERE DID WE STOP?” … 😂😂😂 Exactly. Then: “Okay. Go to sleep.” “I’m not asleep.” “I know.” “And tomorrow you’re gonna tell me the rest?” “Yes.” “Good.” … “Baby?” … Already gone. Except for one tiny response: “MM-HMM.” 😂❤️ Sometimes romance isn’t candles, roses and perfect conversations.
