Tear Off the Roof—Do Whatever It Takes to Get to Jesus | Joby Martin

What would you do if the only thing standing between someone you love and Jesus was a roof? In this powerful Christian sermon, Joby Martin unpacks the unforgettable story of the paralyzed man and the four friends who refused to give up. When the crowd blocked the door, they climbed onto the roof, tore it open, and lowered their friend directly into the presence of Jesus. Their faith reminds us that faith in Jesus is more than a feeling—it moves, acts, sacrifices, and refuses to let obstacles have the final word. Joby Martin challenges us to ask a personal question: Do you have people in your life who will carry your mat when you cannot carry yourself? And are you willing to become that kind of friend for someone else? But the greatest surprise comes when Jesus sees the paralyzed man. Before healing his body, Jesus says, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” This Jesus healing the paralytic story reveals something deeper: our greatest problem is not merely physical, financial, emotional, or relational. Our deepest need is forgiveness and reconciliation with God. Joby Martin explains the heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: we don't simply need self-improvement—we need a Savior. Jesus did not come merely to make bad people better. He came to forgive sinners and bring spiritually dead people to life. This message from Mark 2 sermon reminds us that only Jesus has the authority to forgive sins. The cross shows what that forgiveness cost, and the empty tomb declares that death did not have the final word. As Joby Martin reminds us, if the tomb is empty, anything is possible. Your past, shame, addiction, failures, and labels do not get the final word over your identity. Jesus does. If you're searching for Christian motivation, Jesus forgiveness, hope after failure, or a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Christ, this message is for you. Joby Martin calls us to stop making excuses, start living by faith, make room for one more, and do whatever it takes to bring people to Jesus. Jesus is still saving. Jesus is still forgiving. Jesus is still changing lives. And sometimes faith means tearing off the roof. #JobyMartin #JesusChangesEverything #TearOffTheRoof #FaithInJesus #JesusChrist #ChristianSermon #GospelOfJesus #Mark2 #Forgiveness #Resurrection
